Top 100 dealer group, Citygate Automotive, is powering into 2023 with the launch of its second Kia outlet, following the acquisition of the former Perry’s Ford site in the Buckinghamshire town, which closed at the end of October 2022.
A positive track record of growth achieved at its first Kia dealership in Slough, which opened in March 2017, has enabled Citygate to be awarded the Kia franchise in High Wycombe, following the exit of incumbent Kia retailer, WLMG.
Fit-out work for the new Kia dealership is almost complete and Citygate expects trading to begin next week from 6th February. The site on London Road, High Wycombe, is strategically located opposite the group’s existing Volkswagen operation.
Citygate’s latest purchase increases its portfolio to 16 dealerships across London and the Home Counties, representing Volkswagen, VW Commercial Vehicles, ŠKODA, SEAT, CUPRA and Kia.
Commenting on its latest expansion, Citygate’s Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Smith, said:
“As we start the New Year, we are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with Kia with this strategic acquisition in High Wycombe, which complements our Volkswagen presence in the town and builds on our portfolio. 2023 will be all about continuing to deliver excellence and value to our customers and working closely with our brand partners, so we anticipate an exciting year for the business.”
Citygate has recently introduced several new employee benefits. These include tools vouchers for apprentices; additional annual leave; high street retail discounts; new car, used car, parts and car rental discounts. Recognition and employee engagement activities have also been launched, including an apprenticeship development programme.
Morag Norwood, Group Head of People, Citygate, commented:
“As a privately owned and entrepreneurial business, Citygate has a great team ethic that’s welcoming and inclusive and we’ve worked hard to create a positive and rewarding working environment. We have a variety of opportunities across the business and are always looking for talented individuals to join us, who can either apply online via Citygate Careers or meet us at one of our people events, also listed on our website.”
Established in 2005, Citygate operates 16 dealerships located in London, Chalfont, High Wycombe, Reading, Ruislip, Slough, Twickenham, Watford and Wooburn Green. Employing over 650 staff, the £220 million turnover company represents Volkswagen, VW Commercial Vehicles, ŠKODA, SEAT, CUPRA and Kia for new, used and aftersales. It also operates five bodyshops, two standalone PDI centres, a new car storage facility and five TPS outlets.
